Lightweight Vehicle

Lightweight Vehicle aims to reduce the vehicle’s mass to the greatest possible engineering extent, while maintaining safety, to improve vehicle performance, reduce fuel & energy consumption, and lower emissions. With the rapid development of alternative energy vehicles, the overriding challenge becomes vehicle range. Replacing steel with plastic and other alternative has become standard in lightweighting a vehicle. With this change to plastic, it gives vehicle manufacturers a greater design freedom to improve the vehicle appearance. Tests have shown that when a vehicle’s mass is reduced, the fuel consumption is reduced proportionately. Lightweighting of vehicles has become the mainstream in automotive exterior & interior development in order to comply with the required environmental  and energy savings standards.
